Adoption Services:

The Christian Family Adoption Program is our traditional adoption program.  In this program we will assist you in actively marketing yourselves as adoptive parents using resumes and various advertising techniques in order to come into contact with prospective birth mothers.  Although the average wait for an infant adoption is 2 years, this approach may decrease the time you spend waiting to be chosen as adoptive parents.

Adoption Applicant Eligibility Requirements for the Christian Family Adoption Program :

*Husbands and wives who apply to our Christian Family Adoption Program must at minimum meet the following requirements:*
  1. Married a minimum of two years

  2. Active Christians

  3. Between ages 21 and 40

  4. Have health insurance and an adequate income to support a child

Adoptive Parent Educational Seminars

Educational seminars help prepare adoptive couples for the challenges that await them.  For people just beginning to think about adoption, the process of adopting a child may seem puzzling and overwhelming.  The process of adoption can be intimidating and cause a family to feel vulnerable.  Our seminars will teach you coping skills to help you through the adoption process and provide information about the legal and emotional aspects of adoption.  In addition, our seminars meet the adoptive family training requirements of the State of Colorado.

Family Assessment (also known as a “Home Study”)

The Family Assessment is a necessary part of the adoption process.  The purpose of the family assessment is to ensure that children are placed in appropriate home situations with parents who are best suited for them.  We have skilled counselors on staff who are well trained and able to conduct family assessments in a professional and timely manner.

Counseling Services

As families move through the adoption process, our staff is available to you.  We offer caring professional counseling, guidance, and support throughout the process.

Post Placement Supervision

The placement of a child is a wonderful event!  However, it can prove to be a stressful time as well.  Following placement, your Colorado Christian Services caseworker will provide caring, in-home post-placement supervisory services, in accordance with state law.

Finalization:

We will assist you in finalizing your child’s adoption in accordance with state law.  We work with an attorney to ensure that the adoption meets all state legal requirements.

Post Adoption Services

We remain committed to the adoptive child, adoptive parents, and the child’s biological parents long after our official role is completed.

Designated Adoption Services:  A Designated Adoption is a type of adoption in which adoptive parents have been chosen, or designated, by the birth parent(s) prior to either party’s involvement with an adoption agency.  At Colorado Christian Services we are able to assist all parties involved in a Designated Adoption by completing the adoption process.  This includes completing the birth parent counseling and the adoptive family assessment for the designated parents.

Contract Services:  We work with families who need only a portion of our services in order to complete an adoption.  Each of our adoption services is available on a contract basis.

We are equipped to handle all aspects of the adoption process from the application period to the final stages of the legal process.   Please call us at 1-800-988-0600 for more information about how we can help you.
