How long must we wait? The average wait for an infant adoption at Colorado Christian Services is 18 months. In our Christian Family Adoption Program, we will assist you in actively marketing yourselves as adoptive parents. We will teach you how to use Profiles and other advertising techniques in order to come into contact with prospective birth mothers. This tends to decrease the time you spend waiting to be chosen as adoptive parents.
How much will it cost to adopt, and when are the fees due? Each type of adoption has a different fee schedule according to the services provided. We will be happy to provide you with the fee schedule for the type of adoption you are pursuing. Adoption fees are the responsibility of the adopting family. Each individual fee is due at the time the service is provided.
Does Colorado Christian Services assist in out-of-state adoptions? Yes. We work cooperatively with out-of-state agencies in order to assist our clients who reside outside the state of Colorado.
What level of openness must we accept? The level of openness is unique to each adoptive placement. Your caseworker will provide counseling to you and the birth family in order to reach a level of openness that is agreeable to all parties involved.
Do we need an attorney in order to complete the adoption process? At Colorado Christian Services we work with an attorney to ensure that your adoption meets all state legal requirements.
