Tim and Lauri
Dear Birth Parent(s):
Hello! We are Tim and Lauri and we are excited to have the opportunity to share our story with you. We have been through the adoption process once before and we know the decisions you are facing are very important for you and your baby.
We are honored that you would consider us as adoptive parents for your child! We pray that our profile will provide encouragement and peace for you during this time.
Both of us were raised in stable, loving Christian homes and were introduced by a mutual friend in 2001. We went on our first date (with our friends) in June 2002, fell in love (almost instantly) and committed our lives to each other in December 2002. We have had a strong marriage with opportunities to travel together and share in many experiences. After several years of trying to conceive a child, we realized adoption was the path God was leading us toward to start our family. In April 2008, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy through the miracle of adoption. His name is Gracen. He has been such a joy and has filled our lives with happiness beyond measure! Now God has placed in our hearts the desire to adopt again. Since we both grew up with siblings, we want Gracen to experience the joys of having a brother or sister too. We currently have an open adoption with his birth family and maintain contact with his birth parents and some extended family through e-mails, pictures, and yearly visits. We are excited to have the same degree of openness with you if that is your desire.
Both of our parents have been happily married for 40+ years. We have been very blessed to be able to grow up with them honoring their commitments to each other and to us all of our lives. We know how important that was to us and we will provide that same family environment for our children. We believe family is very important. Tim is a wonderful father with a big, soft heart. He loves to play and watch sports, build things, and farm. He is a stable provider with a job that has flexible hours and allows him to work from home part time. This allows him to spend quality time with Gracen and watch him grow and learn. Lauri enjoys being a stay-at-home Mom. Most of her days are spent snuggling with Gracen, cooking, playing at the park, kissing boo-boos, reading books, taking pictures, doing craft projects, and teaching Gracen through learning experiences throughout the day. Gracen is looking forward to being a big brother. He said when he “grows up when he’s 5, he wants to drive his baby brother or sister everywhere and show them everything that kids like!”
We feel the most important thing we can give a child is an opportunity to know God and develop a personal relationship with Him. We are very involved in our church through the young families and college ministry. We enjoy serving others whenever we can so we volunteer to cook for college retreats, work in the nursery at church, and try to be a “home away from home” for college students.
We currently live in Oklahoma and plan to move to Tim’s family farm by the end of 2011. At the farm we look forward to raising animals, having a garden, and having lots of room to run and play. We also will live very close to Grandma and Grandad and several cousins so there will be lots of opportunity for spoiling a new little bundle of joy!
The miracle of adoption has forever changed us for the better and we look forward to our family growing! It is with excitement that we pray and wait on God’s timing. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We know there are a lot of emotions and decisions involved in adoption and we will continue to pray for you in this journey.
